My latest piece depicts St. Bernard of Clairvaux (1090-1153), a major reformer of Benedictine monasticism through the Cistercian Order. In this short video, I present some of the considerations that went into my design. These considerations include the ways St. Bernard has been depicted in art over the centuries, as well as the aesthetic dimension of Cistercian spirituality.
